Power to the People! We can do it, “Yes we Can” :-)

Let’s keep it going folks…now that we elected Obama into office, let’s bring Bush to justice.  My friend Kristen sent this letter and link to me this morning.  All you need to do is click this link and go and sign your name to send your opinion to all your representatives in Congress:  Apple-style-span” style=”border-collapse:collapse;color:#000000;font-family:arial;font-size:13px;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;font-weight:normal;letter-spacing:normal;line-height:normal;orphans:2;text-indent:0;text-transform:none;white-space:normal;widows:2;word-spacing:0;”>http://www.democrats.com/pardon?source=omdeebha%40yahoo.com

Internet Activism at it’s best baby! [Warning: Disturbing photo on the link of the site above, shocking, horrific and makes you want to speak out even more!]

If you want to read a bit about how our Founding Father’s did their best to write a way to deal with heinous monsters that somehow got themselves into office, check out the letter below:

I signed “Impeach Bush To Stop Pardons”

Dear Representative and Senators,

President George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney stand accused of 39 grave and impeachable offenses, including war crimes, torture, warrantless wiretapping, and outing a covert CIA operative.

Most of these offenses are felonies for which Bush and Cheney can be criminally prosecuted after they leave office. But prosecutions will be impossible if Bush issues blanket pre-emptive pardons for Dick Cheney, Scooter Libby, other senior officials, and even himself.

Can Bush do this? Absolutely. Gerald Ford set the precedent in 1974 when he gave Richard Nixon a blanket pre-emptive pardon for any crime he “may have committed.”

Presidential pardon power is nearly unlimited under the Constitution. We support efforts in Congress to outlaw pre-emptive or self-pardons, but even if a bill passes Congress before Bush leave office, Bush will certainly veto it. So how can we stop Bush’s pardons?

The Founding Fathers clearly anticipated a corrupt President might pardon his co-conspirators, and specified impeachment as the remedy.

George Mason, the father of the Bill of Rights, argued at the Constitutional Convention that the President might use his pardoning power to “pardon crimes which were advised by himself” or, before indictment or conviction, “to stop inquiry and prevent detection.”

James Madison, the father of the U.S. Constitution, added that “if the President be connected, in any suspicious manner, with any person, and there be grounds to believe he will shelter [pardon] him, the House of Representatives can impeach him; they can remove him if found guilty.”

As your constituent, I urge you to impeach George Bush and Dick Cheney before they issue pardons. But if that fails, I urge you to impeach George Bush and Dick Cheney afterwards for issuing pardons that constitute obstruction of justice and abuse of power.

A post-inaugural impeachment would prohibit those impeached from ever holding federal office, either elected or appointed. Arguably, impeachment would also nullify pre-impeachment pardons and permit prosecutions. Finally, impeachment would tell future Presidents they cannot abuse their pardon power to put themselves above the law.

In 1776, Thomas Paine famously wrote, “in America, the law is King.” Congress must not allow a President to commit crimes with impunity, or it makes the President a King – or worse, a Dictator.

"McCain makes Cheney look like Gandhi" Pat Buchanan, conservative commentator.

The email below just come in from my friend Stephanie.  Just passing it along.  I for one cannot hanlde anything more  devastating tonight, after suffering through the 2 1/2 hour moive “Boogie Nights” – not at all the fun fluff I was expecting…Yeah, so that’s it for me tonight.  But others of you may like to stay informed.  I will continue to envision the New World, and Judgment Day signalling the end of suffering and reigning in the One True King, Jehovah.  I was always taught not be be religious, to be objective, empiracal, scientific.  But I can’t and stay sane.  I choose to put my faith in Jah, and that this wicked system of things will come to an end and that “every tear will be wiped from every eye.”  And oh yeah, there is a good chance I will vote too.  Blessings. -Zhen

………………From Stephanie……………..

It really hit me pretty hard, normally I resist alot of the heavy stuff and I opened this one quite unaware of what I was about to see and feel. Blessings on all of us nursing broken hearts over the state of the world. Blessings on our prayers for a better reality. With every fiber of my infinite being I pray for the opportunity to bear witness to a global rest from this destruction and violence. I pray for health, love, and the highest potential of infinity in the name of them both.
I love you all,
Stephanie

p.s. vote.

p.s.s. breach the veil.

To Be Silent or to Speak Up?

Friday, March 7th, 2008

The following article was sent to my be email forwarding.  I chose to post it because it brings out an idea that is complementary to my previous post about getting involved with politics or not.  I’m not saying I’ve set my mind one way or another.  Just food for thought.  I mean, the added complication presented here make me want to throw up my hands and say “Only God can fix this”.  Then again, are we to bring God’s will about with our own enlightenment and making better choices about what happens to us?  Let me know with your comments how you feel.

A German’s point of view on Islam

(ZD note: I think the title of this article should be “A German’s POV on Islam or ANY fanatacism in any religion” – for example, isn’t the Bush Administration fanatical as well?  What about KKK or Christian Militia?  I know some parts of our military are out there committing some butchery).

A man whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War ll owned a number of large industries and estates.  When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism. (more…)

To Put Faith in Politics or to Not Put Faith In Politics?

Have you seen this video yet?

Below is a link to a powerful MoveOn YouTube Video created by Jesse Dylan (Bob’s son) and Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am.  The video is an inspiration to stand up for our rights, say “Yes, we can” and Help Obama win the office.

I personally feel conflicted about whether or not to be involved in politics at all because according to the Bible the earth has so many problems that we humans are not powerful enough to make any lasting change. God through Jesus Christ is the ultimate ruler of the earth, and he will return to serve final justice on Judgment Day and the ‘meek shall inherit the earth’. He will ‘put to ruin those ruining the earth’. I know this to be true – I have felt the truth of this prediction since I remember being conscious.

However, it was my mother who taught me that God is not separate from me or heartfelt human being – that God is a part of us, inside of us. There is the belief that God is actually NOT inside of us – just his ’spark of life’ or ‘breath of life’ is. But let’s say God is actually a part of who we are as humans – that we actually have the ability to channel divine energy for the healing of the earth. Let’s just theorize for a moment that part of the momentum toward Judgment Day is every man, woman and child with consciousness choosing to be a servant to Jah by allowing grace to fill us, flow through us in taking progressive steps toward healing the earth. Maybe there is some truth to seeing it this way. I don’t know for sure. Let me know what you think – I’m interested.

Army of the U.S.A, We Implore You

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Aloha Army Officials/Public Comment,

Recently as I’m sure you’re already aware it’s been brought to the attention of the greater public out here on the Big Island of Hawaii that ammunitions and other weaponry necessary to Army operations/training (Stryker Brigade) carries with it radioactive material harmful to people and the environment.

I don’t think I need to long wind whoever is reading this and passing it along. Isn’t it simple? We all know radiation hurts us – even in small concentrations. We know the great risk, courage and danger our men and women in uniform put themselves in to defend our freedom. We know that those same men and women are putting themselves at risk every time they use the weapons that carry those radioactive substances. (more…)
